Board Bring-up
On-site (at manufacturer) or in-lab bring-up of new hardware through first power-on to functional verification.
- First power-on procedures
- Measure impedance on each power rail
- Isolate power supplies, check for regulation
- Check for nominal power consumption
- Power sequencing verification
- Clock validation
- Signal analyzer and near-field probe
- Detect processor boot
- Load and mount boot memory (usually flash) if not pre-programmed
- Detect flash read
- Detect UART output
- CLI via UART -- if so equipped
- Test I/Os -- basic functionality check
- Run basic EVT tests.
